Timothy Endicott elected to the Vinerian Professorship of English Law

Timothy Endicott has been elected to the Vinerian Professorship of English Law. He will take up the Chair, and an associated Fellowship at All Souls College, on 1 July, 2020. 

Timothy teaches and writes on constitutional and administrative law and jurisprudence. He has been a Fellow of Balliol College since 1999. After studying classics at Harvard and comparative linguistics in Oxford, he studied Law at the University of Toronto and practised law in Toronto before pursuing the DPhil in Oxford. He is the author of Vagueness in Law (OUP 2000) and Administrative Law (4th ed 2018). He became Professor of Legal Philosophy in 2006, and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law from October 2007 to September 2015. He has been a visiting professor in Madrid and Toronto, and has served as General Editor of the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies since 2015.
