About the talk
As of December 2025, for the first time, the German judiciary faces a backlog of over one million pending criminal law cases. Comparable challenges can be seen across other areas of the judicial system. This has prompted a growing number of initiatives exploring the use of AI to alleviate these pressures. Beyond compliance with the EU AI Act, data protection, and IP law, judicial AI must earn institutional trust. This talk provides insights into the practical application of AI in the judicial domain in Germany and explores what it takes to architect such trust in order to meet the unique demands of the judicial domain.
