Oxford Torts Workshop: Call For Papers
Associated people
We invite submissions for a workshop in Oxford for new work in tort law on 10 June 2026 at Wadham College.
Three to five papers will be selected on the basis of the quality of a submitted proposal. Submissions from early career scholars are particularly welcomed.
The intention is to provide a forum for more extended engagement with the speaker’s work. Papers can be doctrinal, philosophical, historical, etc., so long as they are significantly about tort.
Please submit a proposal by 15 March 2026, in the form of an abstract or outline of approximately 500 – 1000 words, or a full draft paper with a maximum length of 8,000 words. Full papers will be due three weeks before the workshop and will be circulated to the other presenters and attendees.
Accommodation for speakers will be available in Oxford for 2 nights; the workshop will be followed by a dinner. Speakers will cover their other costs.
The workshop is convened by Sandy Steel and Robert Stevens. It is supported by the Faculty of Law’s Private Law Research Group, and the Wadham Law and Justice Hub.
Please send paper proposals by 15 March 2026 to oxfordprivatelawworkshop@gmail.com.
