This discussion group is run by graduate students in the Centre for Criminology
Over the last number of years, the Police and Policing Research Discussion Group has generally met fortnightly during term to discuss and reflect upon developments in policing and police research, often based around presentations by academics and occasionally police officers. In particular, we provide intellectual support to research students and junior researchers who are planning for, or involved in, active research with police and policing actors. In the past, the Group has also organised larger seminars on 'police professionalism and 'policing and democracy', hosted at St Peter's College. The group is based at the Centre for Criminology (Law Faculty), but all those interested in policing and police research from across the University are very welcome to attend. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, present at the Group or just learn more, please contact the current convenors. The Police and Policing Research Discussion Group is one of several graduate-led discussion groups with many events open to the public.
