The JDG is an informal and lively forum for discussing original work in legal theory and philosophy of law. Open to everybody, the JDG is particularly directed at Oxford students, who are encouraged to present their legal philosophical works in progress, participate in our debates, or simply drop by and listen to the discussion. We meet on Thursday afternoons during term time, mostly in the Massey Room of Balliol College. Presentations typically, but not a invariably, begin at 17:05.

Since its creation in 1997 by Timothy Endicott, the JDG has been convened by junior members of the Law Faculty and graduate students.

In 2015-16 the JDG is convened by Mikołaj Barczentewicz, James Manwaring and Leah Trueblood.

Oxford students interested in presenting their legal philosophical research are encouraged to email us abstracts: oxfordjdg@gmail.com

Additionally, anyone may join our mailing list by sending a blank email to: jurisprudence-discussion-group-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk
