Accessing Your Profile

Logging In

  1. Navigate to the Faculty of Law website
  2. Scroll to the footer and click on the "Oxford login" link
  3. Log in using your SSO credentials

Finding Your Profile

Once logged in, you will see the admin bar at the top of the page:

  1. Click on your username in the black admin bar
  2. Select "View profile" from the dropdown menu

This will take you to your profile management screen.

Creating a New Profile

Starting Your Profile

If you don't have a profile yet, you will see a message indicating no profile exists:

  1. Click on the "Manage / Edit your public profile" button
  2. You will see navigation tabs at the top: Profile manager, Live Public profile, Get started, Edit, and Manage Publications
  3. Click on "Get started" tab
  4. Click the "Create a new profile" button

Adding Your Details

  1. Click "Create a new profile" to access the profile creation form
  2. Fill in all required fields marked with an asterisk (*)
  3. Complete optional fields as appropriate
  4. Click "Save" when finished

Important: Your profile will be saved as unpublished. HR will publish the page for you. Research students should contact Geraldine Malloy (geraldine.malloy@law.ox.ac.uk) to request publication.

Editing Your Profile

To make changes to your existing profile:

  1. Navigate to your profile management area
  2. Click on the "Edit" tab in the blue navigation bar
  3. Update the required information
  4. Remember to save your changes

Viewing Your Public Profile

To see how your profile appears to website visitors:

  • Click on "Live Public profile" tab to preview your published profile

Managing Publications

Linking to Symplectic

To connect your profile with your research publications:

  1. Go to the "Manage Publications" tab
  2. Use the search field to search for your name
  3. Select your name from the search results
  4. Click "Link my account to this author" button

This will connect your profile to your Symplectic publications database, allowing your research outputs to appear on your profile page.

Remember: Always save your changes after making updates on this page.

Navigation Options

Admin Bar Options

When you click on your username in the admin bar, you will see these options:

  • View profile: Takes you to your profile management screen
  • Edit public profile: Takes you directly to your public profile page (click "Edit" to make changes)
  • Edit Drupal Account: Access your website user account settings
  • Log out: Sign out of the website

Profile Management Navigation

The blue navigation bar in your profile area contains:

  • Profile manager: View your profile overview
  • Live Public profile: Preview how visitors see your profile
  • Get started: Create a new profile (if you don't have one)
  • Edit: Modify your profile information
  • Manage Publications: Link and manage your research publications

TIP: Use "Live Public profile" regularly to check how your profile appears to website visitors before and after making changes.
