The Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot aims to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration and provide practical training to students for resolving international business disputes. It is held in Vienna, Austria annually. The problem for the moot is always based on an international sales transaction subjected to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and also involves procedural issues of arbitration such as jurisdiction and powers of an arbitral tribunal. Teams are expected to submit memoranda for both claimant and respondent, before participating in oral rounds. This is an excellent opportunity to explore a different form of dispute resolution and network with arbitrators and practitioners across the world.
