Bodleian Libraries
A University card gives all members of the University access to libraries, though some require registration on first use.
SOLO (Search Oxford Libraries Online) allows you to search all collections, locate items, access online resources, and reserve or renew books. You can log in using your Single Sign-On (SSO).
Most library PCs require a separate library password to access the Bodleian Libraries network; guidance on setting or resetting this password is available on the Bodleian website.
The Social Science Library (SSL) is the main library for departments in the Social Sciences Division, including socio-legal studies. Located on the ground floor of the Manor Road Building, it is open seven days a week during term time.
The Bodleian Law Library, in the neighbouring St Cross Building, is not a lending library, but most of its extensive collection is available on open shelves.
In addition to the SSL, a number of other Bodleian libraries hold relevant social science and area-studies materials, including:
Saïd Business School Library
Education Library
Vere Harmsworth Library (US studies)
Bodleian Weston Library
Nizami Ganjavi Library (for materials on the Middle East, North Africa, South & Central Asia, Korea, and the Caucasus)
Latin American Centre Library
Bodleian Japanese Library
K B Chen China Centre Library
For further guidance, the Bodleian has an online subject guide for Socio-Legal Studies, which provides an overview of relevant resources and library support:
