Emerging digital technologies present some of the greatest challenges, and potential opportunities, for human rights. Rapid changes in technology have been accompanied by the emergence and strengthening of digital rights. This project considers the regulation on emerging digital technologies through the EU General Data Protection, Article 8 ECHR, common law fundamental rights and judicial review. It questions how those bodies of law are changing in response to digital technologies in the public and private sectors, how Brexit will impact on UK digital rights, and the effect of European human and fundamental rights beyond Europe.
