Shreya Atrey presents expert briefing at European Parliament

Shreya Atrey presented an expert Briefing on the new EU Anti-Racism Strategy 2026-2030 to the European Parliament in Brussels on 24 June 2026. The Briefing was requested by the Policy Department for Justice, Civil Liberties and Institutional Affairs for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE). The Briefing examined the new EU Anti-Racism Strategy 2026-2030 against the existing EU anti-racism legal infrastructure and its predecessor the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan 2020-2025. The Strategy is a first of its kind which explicitly commits to anti-racism within the EU. The Briefing mapped the Strategy's potential and pitfalls—charting a course to its successful implementation in the course of the next five years for building a Union of Equality.

The Briefing reflects Shreya's work on anti-racism within domestic, regional and international legal systems, and will be followed by her upcoming monograph Anti-Racism as a Legal Principle (OUP).
