Wellcome will fund your salary (if required) and cover salary costs for up to 4 FTE staff. Research expenses can include up to £2,000 a year for PI conference and meeting attendance, £1,000 for research and technical staff conference and meeting attendance, costs for fieldwork, subsistence abroad, further professional training, and public engagement. This award will not cover PhD stipends or estates costs.

Eligibility

The project must aim to make a key contribution to the applicant's field by generating significant shifts in understanding and/or developing methodologies, conceptual frameworks, tools or techniques that could benefit health-related research.

PIs are expected to use the award to develop research capabilities and leadership skills, support others to undertake research responsibly and promote a positive and inclusive culture, and start training the next generation of researchers and develop their research skills and careers.
