CSLS Professor at the heart of responding to the Post Office Horizon Computer Scandal

Christopher Hodges OBE, Emeritus Professor of Justice Systems, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Oxford is at the centre of advising the Government on delivering full and fair compensation to the 3,500 or more sub-Postmasters and Mistresses who are victims of the Post Office's Horizon computer system scandal.

Re-thinking digital justice in forced migration: An event organised by the CSLS ConflictNet Team

On the 26th of September, the “Re-thinking digital Justice in Forced Migration” event was hosted at Trinity College. The event was organized under the CSLS ERC ConflictNet project to consolidate research with regards to how AI and digital technologies are being used in contexts of forced migration.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Universities in the global South have been leading debates on decoloniality, epistemic justice, and challenging established modes of how knowledge is created. The methods through which we come to know what we know, however, have only been marginally impacted by these debates.

The Centre for Socio-Legal Studies has been extremely successful in three national competitions to fund post-doctoral fellows.  Three candidates supported by the Centre In the 2022-2023 competitions run by the British Academy, Leverhulme Trust and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) have been awarded grants to conduct research with us.

The CSLS is excited to partner on a new EU Horizon project titled Resilient Media for Democracy in the Digital Age. This large consortium project involves researchers from across Europe and will investigate the relationship between media and new technologies, including AI and social media, and political processes in Europe.
