Marius Fischer

Marius is a Visiting PhD Student from the Ludwig-Maximilans-University (LMU) and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, both situated in Munich, Germany. His research concerns patents in the nanotechnology space and, in particular, related policy issues. He draws from expertise in Theoretical Nanophysics he developed at LMU Munich and Northeastern University, Boston, USA, as well as from an understanding of Intellectual Property Law & Economics he gained at UC Berkeley, USA, under Professor Robert Merges. His supervisor in Oxford is Professor Graeme Dinwoodie, his supervisor in Munich is Professor Ansgar Ohly. Marius holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from RWTH Aachen University and a Master’s degree in Nanophysics from LMU Munich. His ongoing research into patent law was and is kindly supported by scholarships from the Fulbright Commission, the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
