Oxford student wins National Speed Moot Autumn Cup

Nicholas Stone (Harris Manchester College) has won the BPP National Speed Mooting Competition Autumn Cup 2023, held in London on 28th October 2023. 

This was a national moot, entered by 128 competitors, who received the moot problem and permitted legal authorities the night before the competition. On the day of the moot, competitors proceeded through knockout rounds, with each mooter being told which side they would represent at the start of each new round.

The problem concerned an appeal over an application for an interim injunction in a nuisance case concerning the potential spread of Japanese knotweed from land owned by a public body.
