OPBP Call for Volunteers: Hate Crimes Research

Oxford Pro Bono Public (OPBP) is inviting volunteers to assist with comparative research for the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union. The research involves the application of hate crime laws in relation to majority groups, an issue to be decided in two significant cases pending before the Hungarian Supreme Court (the Curia). This research will start immediately and is due to be submitted in January. It should not require more than 10 hours of individual research. Some background in criminal law, hate crimes or discrimination law, specifically in the U.K., the E.U., or any European jurisdiction, is desirable but not required. If you are interested, please send a brief CV, indicating relevant experience and familiarity with particular jurisdictions, to Tamas Szigeti at opbp@law.ox.ac.uk by Thursday 28 November. Please include ‘Hate Crime Project' in your email subject line.
