Oxford students finish as Semi-Finalists at the ESU-ECC National Moot 2021

The team representing the University of Oxford finished as Semi Finalists and received prizes in the English Speaking Union-Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition 2021.

The team, consisting of Sushrut Royyuru (Magdalen College), Sidal Daghan (Magdalen College) and George Twinn (St. Hilda’s College) tackled a difficult moot problem in the Semi Final Round. The first ground of the problem asked whether cost of cure damages could be sought for flooring installed in a different colour than what was ordered. The second ground was concerned with the conditions in which an account of profits could be awarded.

The competition, which has been ongoing since January 2021, saw the Oxford team defeat universities from across the United Kingdom, placing amongst the final four. The competition invites participant teams to moot a different problem each round. Previous rounds have tackled contractual consideration, crime under the Terrorism Act and human rights violations.

The Mooting Programme congratulates the team on their performance!
