Biography

Jan is a doctoral student in Law at Oriel College, University of Oxford.

His research examines the history of Administrative Law in England, France, and Germany in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The doctoral project is supervised by Professor Joanna Bell, Professor Birke Häcker, and Professor Timothy Endicott. It is generously funded by Oxford’s Faculty of Law and by Oriel College.

Prior to the DPhil, Jan studied Law as well as Modern History at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg and at the Sorbonne Université in Paris. He also holds a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford.
