Vendula Kolarik Mezeiova

Biography

Vendula is a DPhil candidate at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. In her doctoral research, she focuses on comparing behavioural regulation and law in vaccination policies from the poststructuralist analysis of autonomy perception and legitimising procedures.

Vendula graduated with a Master's in Law at Charles University and holds an LLM in Health, Law and Society from the University of Bristol. Prior to joining CSLS, Vendula practised law as a judicial trainee at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czech Republic and qualified with the judicial professional examination. In 2022, Vendula completed a traineeship at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, where she specialised in disease prevention and health promotion. As of September 2022, Vendula, as a part of the team at the University of Vienna, has been engaged in a research project comparing the resistance to media, political representation, and scientific expertise across the Czech Republic, Denmark, the USA, Great Britain, and the Netherlands.
