Call for Applications: Public Law as Infrastructure of Imperial Governance

The Refugee Studies Centre, the Faculty of Law and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford invite applications for a doctoral workshop on the theme of Public Law as Infrastructure of Imperial Governance, to be held at Bonavero Institute, University of Oxford on March 8, 2023. Those interested in joining us at the workshop should submit an abstract of max. 500 words to bonavero-events@law.ox.ac.uk and a first draft of the presented piece, which could be a chapter from their doctorate, by 3rd February 2023. The papers should address British public law and imperialism, broadly conceived. We will then select six participants for the workshop, who will receive a stipend towards their domestic travel and lodging expenses. The invited doctoral students and early career researchers will be also invited to attend the main conference and the conference dinner organised for the 7th of March.  We would require a final draft of the paper by Monday 27th February, which would be circulated to participants.
