Message from the Dean, Trinity Term 2016

It gives us great pleasure to report that in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject the Faculty was ranked second worldwide for Law, and in the Complete University Guide released in April the Faculty was ranked second in the UK for studying Law.

We are also pleased to announce three recent research grants made to faculty members: Professor Mary Bosworth has been awarded an ESRC Knowledge Exchange Incoming Fellowship for work with Hindpal Bhui, at the HMIP; Professor Imogen Goold has been awarded an AHRC Follow On Funding grant for her project  ‘Human Enhancement Technologies: Bringing the Regulation Debate into the Public Eye’; and Professor Ian Loader has been awarded a Mid-Career Research Fellowship by the Independent Social Research Foundation.

This term we have welcomed Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor Peter Watts from the University of Auckland for a series of three lectures entitled ‘Agency, Express Trusts, and 'Unjust Enrichment'.

There is still time to book your place at the Centre for Criminology’s 50th anniversary conference ‘Contemporary Dilemmas in Criminal Justice’ taking place on the 4th of June. Please see the event page for further information.

We offer our warmest wishes to all of our undergraduate and graduate students who are currently preparing for or sitting their examinations.
