ChorSwang Ngin is a Professor of Anthropology at California State University, Los Angeles.

Her book Identities on Trial in the United States: Asylum Seekers from Asia (Lexington, 2018) is based her role as an anthropological expert witness in US federal courts.

She has also conducted research on the Vietnamese Boat People in Southeast Asia and on the undocumented “Dreamer” students in California.
