The Oxford Jurisprudence Discussion Group is very pleased to invite you to its last special event for this academic year. The event will be held in the St. Cross Building (Lecture Theatre II), from 4pm to 6pm.

On the occasion of the publication of the second edition of Natural Law and Natural Rights (http://ukcatalogue.oup.com/product/9780199599134.do) the JDG has organised a panel event to discuss Professor Finnis' contributions to the philosophy of law.

Matthew Kramer (Professor of Legal and Political Philosophy, University of Cambridge) will present a paper entitled “Positivism and the Separability of Law and Morality”.

Hillel Steiner (Emeritus Professor of Political Philosophy, University of Manchester) will present a paper entitled “Value Pluralism and the Nature of Rights”.

The two presentations will be followed by a response from John Finnis (Emeritus Professor, University of Oxford) and a general discussion.

The panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Cecile Fabre (Lincoln College, Oxford).

After the discussion, please join us for wine and nibbles. All welcome! At the drinks reception there will also be an OUP book display.

This event is kindly supported by Oxford University Press.
