Nigel has worked at Rothschild since graduating in Modern History from Oxford University in 1982. He has a broad range of UK and international corporate clients whom he has advised on a variety of strategic, M&A and capital raising matters as well as advising on many privatisations for the Governments of the UK, the Netherlands and Denmark. Nigel Higgins was the first group Chief Executive at Rothschild and has been Chairman of the Executive Committee and Managing Partner of Rothschild & Co since 2010. He was previously Co-Head of Rothschild Global Advisory, which he ran from the early 2000s until 2013. He was a member of the Advisory Board for the Commercial Directorate of the UK's National Health Service from 2002-2007 and has been the Governor of two London day schools. He is Chairman of Sadler’s Wells, the world’s No. 1 venue dedicated to international dance, and a non-executive director of Tetra Laval Group, a major global group focused on technologies for the efficient production, packaging and distribution of food. He is a member of, and co-head of the UK group of, the Trilateral Commission, a non-governmental forum bringing together leaders from business, politics and civil society with a view to addressing the major challenges of the day. Rothschild & Co is one of the world’s largest financial advisory groups with revenue of €1.8bn and operating profits from its main businesses of €400m (up from €100m five or so years ago).
