'Human Rights - Alternative Enforcement Mechanisms' 14 January, London

The Equality and Human Rights Commission, Doughty Street Chambers, and the New Zealand Centre for Human Rights will be jointly hosting a conference on alternative enforcement mechanisms for human rights in London on 14 January. The conference will look at alternatives to domestic legislation for the enforcement of human rights and the remedies lawyers can seek on behalf of clients via the UN Treaty Bodies. It is targeted at lawyers and other advocates and our aim is to raise awareness of the opportunities for complaints to be made to UN Rights Mechanisms on behalf of individual clients as well as the wider opportunities for non-governmental organisations to raise issues via the periodic reporting process. To reserve your place, please RSVP to events@doughtystreet.co.uk or contact Jennifer Noone on 020 7404 1313.
