Staff and students at the Centre for Criminology at the University of Oxford extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Saskia Jones and Jack Merritt and to everyone at the Institute of Criminology and in Learning Together.  We also keep in our thoughts those who are injured.

We mourn for these two lives cut short. We also grieve for the attack on the principles of rehabilitation and civic engagement which this violent act inflicted. These principles, which are epitomised by the Learning Together programme, lie at the heart of criminology. We stand in love and solidarity with our friends and colleagues in Cambridge, reaffirming our commitment to these principles and to our collective enterprise.
