PIL Research Student Nikiforos Panagis - appointed at the International Court of Justice

DPhil student Nikiforos Panagis has been appointed as Associate Legal Officer (Law Clerk) at the International Court of Justice.

Each Law Clerk is assigned to a Member of the Court and tasked with providing research and legal assistance associated with his or her judicial duties. In particular, a Law Clerk works closely with a Judge to support him or her in the preparation of case files, the drafting of documents related to the Judge’s participation in the Court’s various committees, including drafting committees, and any other relevant legal research. As members of the Department of Legal Matters, Law Clerks are occasionally called upon to provide legal assistance and support to a judge ad hoc participating in a particular case, as well as to perform specific legal tasks for the Court’s Registry.
