Demystifying Oxford Law Admissions
The Oxford Law Faculty is holding virtual visits to UK non-selective state schools with the aim of demystifying the Oxford law admissions process and to provide students with interactive small group sessions in which students can practice key parts of the admissions tests for Oxford law.
The virtual visits will include information about the Oxford Law admissions process, a demonstration admissions interview and practice interview and LNAT (Law National Admissions Test) workshops. The sessions will be led by lectures from the law faculty with the assistance of current graduate law students. The visits will consist of two 2 hour sessions and take place during school hours. They will be online either using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. The sessions will be held in September 2022 during the first three weeks of the new school year.
The visits are open to students studying in the same year they will apply to University, but smaller schools can also nominate other students from GCSE level or above. Only 15 students per school will be allowed to participate in the virtual visit, but the school is free to choose those 15 students. Schools may be combined for some of the demonstration and information sessions, but all workshops will be for individual schools only.
Expressions of interest (EOI) are due by 5pm 14 July 2022 and can be completed by filling out the fom here. Expressions of interest must come from the school directly. If you're a student and want to be involved, ask your headteacher to register your school. In your EOI please confirm your school is a non-selective state school (which is the only firm eligibility criteria) but please also include contextual data about the school and catchment area, including levels of socio-economic disadvantage and rates of progression to higher education. This additional information will help us prioritise school visits in the event of high demand. Schools will be notified of the outcome in the week beginning 18 July.
