Biography

Cóman Kenny is a part-time DPhil in Law candidate at the Faculty of Law and works as a Legal Officer investigating serious international crimes with the United Nations. His research focuses on the crime of extermination in international law.

Cóman is a barrister admitted to practice in Ireland. He has previously served as a prosecution lawyer at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, the International Criminal Court, and the Special Court for Sierra Leone, and as a defence lawyer at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. He has also worked as a Legal Adviser to NGOs, including on a rule of law project in Libya.

Cóman holds an LLM (cum laude) in Public International Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands and an LLB from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
