Biography

Dr Cristy Clark is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of School at the University of Canberra Law School, where she teaches Human Rights, Constitutional Law, and Property Law. Her research focuses on legal geography and the intersection of human rights and the environment (including ecological jurisprudence, relational rights, and climate justice). Cristy is the reviews editor with the Australian Journal of Human Rights, and co-convenor of the climate equality working group at the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law. Her co-authored book (with John Page), The Lawful Forest: A Critical History of Property, Protest and Spatial Justice, was published by Edinburgh University Press in 2022 and won the 2023 Penny Pether Prize. She is currently writing a book on the Legal Geographies of Water.
