Kathryn is a doctoral student who is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council Collaborative DPhil studentship. Her research is supervised by Professor Ian Loader. Her research focuses on issues of trust, blame and confidence within South Wales Police.
Prior to undertaking the DPhil, Kathryn completed the MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Oxford. She also holds a first-class undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology. Kathryn also has extensive experience in the Criminal Justice arena, having worked as an Assistant Psychologist for the Prison Service, and also as a criminal investigator for Leicestershire Police. She has also worked as a Lead Investigator for the Independent Office for Police Conduct, where she specialised in death in custody and firearms investigations.
