Biography

Sigmund Book Mohn is a PhD candidate in the department of Criminology and Sociology of Law at the University of Oslo. He holds a Masters Degree in Criminology from the University in Oslo (2008) and he has worked with production and analysis of crime statistics at Statistics Norway. His Ph.D. projectPolicing immigrants, aims to analyse the impact of immigration control on the police, in a national and local context. Mohn’s Ph.D. research is a sub-project of Crime Control in the Borderlands of Europe, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), with events in collaborations with The Norwegian Police University College, Oxford University's Border Criminologies, and Monash University's Border Crossing Observatory. In 2013 Mohn also participated in a multinational comparative study on the use of deportation under The Australian Deportation Project at Monash University. Mohn is also interested in the broader fields of globalization and crime control, migration, policing, organised crime, crime statistics and fieldwork.
