Balliol College is recruiting a Stipendiary Research Lecturer in Law. The teaching requirement is 8 contact hours per week during full term. This 2-year full-time fixed-term post is available from 1 July 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The first two terms will be probationary.
The post is intended to provide an excellent opportunity for substantial small-group teaching experience, and some exposure to academic administration, alongside research activity.
The College’s teaching needs are in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and Jurisprudence. Applicants should be able to teach in both Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. An ability to teach also in Jurisprudence may be an advantage. Teaching swaps with other colleges will also be required to maintain Balliol’s existing tutorial arrangements.
Candidates will hold a doctorate, demonstrate potential for outstanding small group teaching, and have a publication record appropriate to their career stage as well as a proposal for research to be undertaken in the two-year time-frame.
Please see the job description and person specification, which includes details of how to apply.
