Additional Teacher for the BCL/MJur/MLF Regulation Option in 2021-22
The Faculty of Law seeks an additional Teacher to teach three 1-hour paired tutorials on the BCL/MJur/MLF Regulation option during the academic year 2021-22.
Depending on the number of students enrolling in the ‘Regulation’ option, this may be roughly a total of 24 hours of currently anticipated face-to-face teaching. The work will be overseen and supported by the Course Convenor, Dr Bettina Lange.
Tutorial One will be held during Week 8 of Michaelmas Term, 2021; and tutorials Two and Three will be taught during Hilary Term 2022.
To be eligible to apply, you must be a current research student in the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, and ideally have subject relevant knowledge. This is an exceptional arrangement, and appointment will be subject to the approval of the Faculty.
Remuneration
For each seminar, the Additional Teacher will be paid at the Faculty’s standard rate, which is equivalent to the standard Senior Tutors’ Committee Rate for four in a group, currently £43.96 per tutorial hour.
Funding
This post is funded from the OU Council Secretariat’s fund for substitute teaching during the Assessorial Year.
How to apply
Please write by e-mail to Bettina Lange, not later than 6 September 2021, explaining your suitability for the position. Please also attach a brief CV.
Although previous teaching experience will not be required, applicants should demonstrate evidence of aptitude for teaching.
Applicants must also arrange for two referees to write directly to Bettina Lange <bettina.lange@csls.ox.ac.uk> by the same deadline. If Dr Lange is your supervisor, you will also need the approval of the Associate Dean for Graduate Research Students to undertake this work.
General enquiries may be emailed to personnel@law.ox.ac.uk.
