Deadline date: Midday on Thursday 18 June 2020
Grade 6: £29,176 - £34,804 pro rata per annum
The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint an Equality and Diversity Officer to work closely with the new Associate Dean for Equality and Diversity.
The Faculty gained a Bronze Athena SWAN award in 2017, and in 2021 we plan either to apply for a renewal of this award, or to apply for a Silver award. This will entail working with the Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team to gather and analyse data, using this to write reports on progress against the Action Plan; to take the lead in designing and implementing new initiatives which will contribute to the achievement of our Athena SWAN targets and broader equality and diversity goals (including the design and organisation of focus groups and workshops; to service and report to the Faculty’s Equality and Diversity Committee (which is also part of the wider Self-Assessment Team); and to provide advice and support on equality and diversity matters to other members of the Faculty.
The successful candidate should have the ability to compile and manage on-line surveys, and the analysis of administrative data on staff and students; learn quickly and assimilate complex information; deal with issues of gender and other issues requiring sensitivity; understand, manipulate, collate, analyse and visualise data, both quantitative and qualitative; write reports at a high level and involving complex concepts; and communicate with academic and professional support staff across the Faculty and the wider University.
