Associate Professorship and Tutorial Fellowship in Law, St Catherine's College in association with Faculty of Law

Salary: £45,562 - £61,179 per annum (plus £8,262 per annum taxable and pensionable College housing allowance if living outside College and other benefits)

St Catherine’s College and the Faculty of Law in the University of Oxford propose to appoint a Associate Professor and Tutorial Fellow in Law, with effect from the start of the 2017/18 academic year, or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a permanent full-time position based at St Catherine’s College, Manor Road, Oxford, OX1 3UJ with some responsibilities carried out at the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Rd, Oxford, OX1 3UL.

The person appointed will be expected to engage in advanced study or research in Law, and to give high-quality tutorials, classes, supervision and lectures at both undergraduate and graduate level. The appointee will be an Official Fellow of St Catherine’s College and a trustee and member of its Governing Body.

The College’s requirement is for someone willing and able to take tutorial responsibility and teach at least two and preferably three of the following undergraduate subjects: Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, and Trusts.

Applicants should have a higher degree in Law (whether doctorate or LLM equivalent) already awarded at the time of interview; and should demonstrate scholarship of the highest quality, a sound knowledge of Law in the relevant subjects, an understanding of the needs of students, and excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
