Opportunity for first year students
The City Solicitors Horizons programme has been developed to help switched-on students gain access and an in-depth understanding of a range of legal careers. Students on this programme get access to training, mentoring and work experience. City Solicitors Horizons is supported by the City of London Solicitors’ Company, the City Solicitors’ Educational Trust (CSET), The Legal Education Foundation (TLEF) and over 20 leading City law firms.

| Annual training from industry experts will cover the full spectrum of legal career paths and will help you develop the skills you need to excel in interviews and on vacation schemes. The programme is designed to significantly improve your skills and equip you for your chosen law career. Sessions will include coaching to develop commercial awareness and technical and soft skills. One to one coaching will focus on your personal development needs including help with applications, mock interviews etc. | Your mentors will be experienced lawyers matched to you based on both your career interests and also background. They will meet with you throughout the year and support you at the most critical times, e.g. when making applications for vacation schemes and training contracts. | We will provide you with prestigious work experience placements with the firms and legal sectors you are most interested in. Over the course of the scheme this can include CSH sponsor City law firms, in-house legal departments, the public sector and various high profile legal organisations. |
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis so those interested in applying are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
