Data Visualisation - 2 Day Workshop
21st and 28th November 2018, 10:00 - 16:00
Day 1 - Getting Data into R and exploring your data reproducibly with RStudio
21st November 2018, 10:00 - 16:00
This workshop is designed to give you a thorough introduction to the basics of the R language and how to use it to get data into R and do real things with it in RStudio. The content has been deliberately designed for those who are completely new to R, but also for those who’ve been using R for a while but don’t feel that they particularly “get” the language.
The importance of a reproducible data workflow will also be discussed, and compared with the irreproducible data manipulations that are made when working purely within Excel on data. By the end of today you’ll be able to write code that imports, cleans, analyses and exports data that you can guarantee will work on anyone else’s computer.
Day 2 - Creating interactive maps, charts and networks with R and RStudio
28th November 2018, 10:00 - 16:00
This workshop builds on the previous workshop to introduce you to how to build interactive data visualisations with R and RStudio.
