Grade 6: £29,614 - £35,326 per annum

The position of Development Officer in the Faculty of Law is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in a career in fundraising and development.  The purpose of the role is to provide, administrative, clerical and operational direction and support for the development functions of the Law Faculty, through the management of philanthropic projects, the coordination of the stewardship activity, and the support of engagement with donors, alumni, students and staff through research, communications, data analysis and management, donor stewardship, and careers events.  The postholder will work under the day-to-day direction of the Development Director.

The successful applicant should have an understanding of development, fundraising and donor relations, supported by relevant work experience or comprehensive training; experience of working with Oxford’s DARS database, or a similar database, and a willingness to support the implementation and use of DARS to its full potential for Oxford Law;  a strong commitment to and an interest in higher education, in particular an understanding of the University’s goals in teaching and research and its need for external funding; good general level of education, including a degree or equivalent; excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a good command of the English language and attention to detail and the ability to be highly creative in producing materials and to understand how to articulate projects for prospective and existing donors.  An understanding of the implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on the Faculty’s donor and alumni relations strategy would be an advantage.

This is a full-time, fixed term post for one year pending the outcome of the review of Development and a wider review of the administrative structures in the Law Faculty, and would make an ideal secondment opportunity.
