Graduate Mentors (x4)

Zoe Campbell, Baker McKenzie Access Officer in the Faculty of Law, seeks four Graduate Mentors to help with practice interviews for the Pathway to Law Oxbridge Application Workshop September 2021, week commencing Monday 6 September 2021.
Graduate mentors will be required to conduct practice interviews for students attending the session. Each interview will consist of 1 graduate mentor and two Pathwayers and will last for approximately 1hr, and will include feedback on their interview performance.
Two mock interview questions will be provided.
Duration and hours
Total number of hours of work available:
Each mentor will be guaranteed 5 hours’ work, additional hours may become available, this will be limited to max of 8 hours per graduate. Dependant on the practice interview session take up.
Work is expected to be completed by 14 September 2021
Please do not specify a regular number of hours per week, as this is not compatible with the terms of a casual appointment or variable hours contract.
Reporting
The Research Assistant will report to Zoe Campbell, Baker McKenzie Access Officer
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- A general understanding of the field of law
- Experience using Zoom and Teams
- Experience of conducting admission interviews for the University of Oxford.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience conduction admissions for a Higher Education Institution
- Previous access or widening participation experience.
Eligibility
This position is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.
Rate of Pay
This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.60 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1) plus holiday pay of £1.88 per hour worked (= total of £17.48/hour).

This position is funded by the partnership between The Faculty of Law and The Sutton Trust.
