Grants and Finance Officer

Grade 5: £25,941 - £30,942 per annum

The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights is seeking to recruit a Grants & Finance Officer to provide administrative support for research at the Bonavero Institute within the Law Faculty.  Principally, the Grants & Finance Officer will provide post-award support to Principal Investigators (PIs) holding grants at the Bonavero, but will also include some pre-award support and general research-related finance functions.  The postholder will be line managed by the Institute Administrator, and will be an important member of the Institute team as well as the Administrative and Research Support Team at the Faculty of Law.

The postholder will be required to prepare the financial elements of grant applications for small and straight forward grants and advise on post award management and reporting, in line with funder criteria. The Grants and Finance Officer will also be responsible for the procurement of goods and services, coding expense claims, dealing with invoices that arrive at the Institute and checking and processing all expense claim forms relating to Institute activities, in line with the University’s purchase to pay procedures.

The successful candidate should have proven experience of financial or research grants administration; numeracy: able to summarise, analyse and understand financial data, with the ability to identify anomalies; a good general level of education; effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to produce accurate work under pressure. Experience of using X5 and Oracle Financials and setting budgets for events and research projects is desirable.

This is a permanent, full time role and the postholder will be based at the Bonavero Institute for Human Rights, Mansfield College, Oxford.
