HeLEX Research Facilitator (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY)

Deadline date: Midday on Monday 19 July 2021

Grade 6: £29,176 - £34, 804 per annum (pro rata)

The Faculty of Law are looking to appoint someone with experience of research administration in the University to manage a portfolio of grant applications and projects associated with the Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technologies (‘HeLEX’) in the Faculty of Law.  HeLEX comprises a team of 7 research staff, currently based at Ewert House in Summertown, though the Research Facilitator would be based principally with the Faculty research team in the St Cross Building.

Working under the supervision of the Senior Research Facilitator and closely with the HeLEX team, the Research Facilitator will help with all aspects of pre- and post-award support for the HeLEX portfolio of grants.  HeLEX is funded by multiple projects, some with external collaborators, with varying terms and conditions and end-dates, so the role offers an interesting variety of projects to support, and involves close and regular analysis of the financial and HR aspects of the grants.

Applicants must have recent experience of financial or research grants administration; experience of using Oracle and X5; excellent IT skills word processing, and manipulation of complex spreadsheets (in particular Word and Excel); numerate, able to create reports, analyse and understand financial data with the ability to identify anomalies and the capacity to understand a range of funder rules and University financial requirements, to apply these accurately, and able to convey them to colleagues in an effective way.

This is a part time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term position for 12 months.  It would be suitable for someone seeking a secondment opportunity to broaden their experience of research facilitation.  The hours of work are reasonably flexible, and the position could be held in addition to another (up to) 0.5 FTE position.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made via the internal job vacancy board which can be accessed via HR Self service, https://staff.admin.ox.ac.uk/working-at-oxford/you-and-work/hr-self-service.  Vacancy ID: 151729.   You will be required to submit a CV and covering letter with your application.

Only applications received by midday on Monday 19 July 2021 will be considered.
