INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY - Part-time Criminology Centre Administrator (fixed term maternity cover)

Deadline date: Midday on Wednesday 3rd January 2018

£24,983- £29,799 p.a.pro rata per annum

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

The Centre for Criminology is looking to appoint a suitably qualified person to the position of part-time Centre Administrator.  This is an important role that is vital to the smooth-running of the Centre and its integration with the Law Faculty.   The postholder will support the Director, Assistant Director and other teaching and research staff in the effective running of the Centre.  Duties will include the management of Centre resources, communications including social media, events, the Centre’s Academic Visitors programme, finance administration related to a variety of research projects in the Centre, and supporting other activities specific to the Centre.

The successful candidate will have: proven experience of managing administrative processes in a similar role or environment; excellent written communication and numeracy; experience of the effective use of social media; strong organisational skills; the ability to work independently and to know when to refer issues to others. Experience of organising events, including budget setting and management and an understanding or experience of the University’s Oracle financial system is desirable.

The post is part-time (0.7 FTE or 25.5 hours per week) and the preference would be for the person to spread their working hours fairly evenly over the working week but a request to work evenly over four days would be considered.

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months arising from the maternity leave of the current postholder.  It is hoped to make an appointment from early March 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter and it would be an ideal secondment opportunity.
