John Fell Fund Small Awards: Summer 2021 round

The Social Sciences Division is pleased to invite applications for John Fell Fund small awards to commence from October 2021.

Applications from any SSD department requesting support for the usual activities/work that the Fell Fund would fund will be considered, however, we particularly welcome applications from academics whose work/research has been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Proposals can be for up to £10,000 each. Depending on the number and quality of the applications received, and the amount requested by each, the division may fund approximately 10-12 proposals for a total value of up to £100,000. 

Applications must be up to 2 pages only. This includes all the sections of the Case for Support except for the CV of the PI and her/his list of external research grants held. Note also that PIs and co-Is cannot claim their own salary.

This 2021 Summer round of John Fell Fund small awards is in addition to the usual three Fell Fund rounds already held in 2020-21. The funds to cover this extra round come, mostly, from reclaims from previous awards. 

Expressions of interest in applying must be forwarded to research@law.ox.ac.uk by 5pm Monday 19 July 2021. Applications should be submitted via IRAMS (SSD Fell Fund Small Award Summer Trinity Term 2021), no later than 5pm Wednesday 19 August 2021. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in September 2021.
