Applications are invited by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights and The Legal Education Foundation (TLEF) for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the area of access to Civil Justice. This is a full time fixed term appointment for 3 years.
The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights has recently been established by the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. The Faculty intends the Institute to become a world leader in research and scholarship in the law of human rights, including, as part of that work, the improvement of the public understanding of human rights and the linking of research to practice.
This position will provide an opportunity for an exceptional candidate to conduct an empirical research project on the theme of access to civil justice in England and Wales as directed by the Institute Director and in consultation with The Legal Education Foundation Foundation; to prepare research reports and publications on the empirical research results for a range of different publications/platforms; to assist with the management of programmes and activities within the Institute; to participate in Institute events, including workshops, seminars and conferences and provide occasional assistance as a rapporteur if requested.
Applicants should have a completed doctorate in Law and have completed within the last four years or before this if they have taken a career break; have a demonstrable interest in and professional familiarity with current issues relating to justice in England and Wales; outstanding research skills and the ability to contribute, under the direction of the Institute directors, to the design, analysis and writing of scholarly articles, papers and monographs.
