Professor Liz Fisher elected Fellow of the British Academy

The Faculty extends warm congratulations to Professor Liz Fisher, who is today named as a Fellow of the British Academy.
Professor Fisher is one of 92 newly elected Fellows, recognised by the British Academy for their outstanding contributions to the humanities and social sciences. Commenting on her Fellowship, Professor Fisher said: "I am deeply honoured and humbled to be taking on the responsibility of being a British Academy Fellow. The Academy's commitment to rigorous thinking matters more than ever in our current times."
Professor Fisher is Professor of Environmental Law at the Faculty of Law and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Her research explores the mental constructs lawyers and legal scholars use to legally reason – particularly in relation to public administration and environmental problems.
Professor Susan J Smith, President of the British Academy, said: "I am delighted to welcome our newest Fellows to the British Academy. Each has made an outstanding contribution to their field, and together they reflect the remarkable breadth and depth of scholarship across our disciplines."
