Oxford Ageing Workshop

13th February 2019, 14.00-17.00 followed by drinks reception

The following message is from Profs Tim Coulson and Karen O’Brien, who are leading a charge to gather all those who might be interested in ageing research across the University. To achieve this they are planning aa half day workshop on ageing on 13th Feb, 2-5pm at the Oxford Martin School. Please see details below.

Research on ageing is conducted within departments in all four of Oxford’s Divisions. Research spans the cultural and societal consequences of an ageing population; therapeutics of age-related diseases; the population-level consequences of ageing in terms of city planning, education and economics; patterns of senescence across the tree of life; helping people live happily and healthily into old age; and much more.

The workshop will consist of a brief introduction from Patrick Grant (pro-VC for research), a number of short talks from researchers in each division, a panel discussion where panel members include Sarah Harper (Oxford Centre for Population Ageing), Chas Bountra (pro-VC for innovation) and Sunetra Gupta (MPLS) and a drinks reception
