Grade 5: £24,983-£29,799 pro rata per annum

The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint an Events and Communications Officer for the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights to provide high quality administrative and communications support for conferences, seminars and academic events. This is an exciting opportunity and involves shaping key activities at the Institute during its infancy.

Under the day-to-day direction of the Institute Administrator, the Events and Communications Officer will provide a broad range of administrative and practical support to the Institute and its senior staff, including events facilitation and general administration of the Centre’s communication resources (such as website, shared room calendars and social media platforms). An important aspect of this role will be ensuring that all events and academic activities are communicated to the relevant audiences and ensuring that the Institute optimises its global reach.

Applicants must have evidence of effective administrative skills and relevant experience of administrative processes; good customer facing skills with an ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people ; an ability to communicate research to a wide audience; be an experienced user of social media platforms in a communications environment; an interest in communication and human rights issues; a high standard of literacy and ability to draft accurate news and events notices.

Previous experience of using the Development and Alumni Relations database (DARS), an awareness of Information Security issues and experience of using content management systems (CMS) for developing and maintaining websites and a desktop and digital publishing tool such as InDesign is desirable.

The post is part-time (0.6 FTE or 21.9 hours per week) and will be based at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Mansfield College.

There will be regular evening events during term time, although the successful candidate will not be expected to attend all of these there will be times when overtime will be required.
