Part-time Researcher, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies

Grade 6: £29,614 - £35,326 per annum pro rata
Professor Linda Mulcahy is looking for a research assistant to help her with general support in preparing commissioned research publications, preparing research grant applications and other research related and teaching preparation tasks while she devotes time to two large externally funded projects. Reporting to Professor Mulcahy, the postholder will be a member of the access to civil justice and law in a digital age research clusters at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies.
The postholder will be manage their own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by Professor Mulcahy; contribute to wider project planning; select, follow, and adapt methods as required and identify alternative methods for undertaking a task where appropriate when information or research material is restricted; contribute to the design of research materials and undertake data gathering and gather, analyse and present data and information from a variety of sources.
Applicants should hold a first degree in law or the social sciences together with some relevant experience; be working toward a doctorate in a relevant social science discipline; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes; excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings.
The post is part time (0.2 FTE) and fixed term for 24 months.
