Research Assistant, Asset tracing in cross-border insolvency cases (Merton College)

Professor Jennifer Payne is looking for a research assistant to help with research for an article on asset tracing in cross-border insolvency cases.

Duration and hours
Total number of hours of work available: 30

Start date: 1 June 2022

Date by which the work must be completed: 15 July 2022

Reporting
The research assistant will report to Professor Jennifer Payne.

Requirements

  • A general understanding of the field of corporate insolvency law is essential. 
  • The work will primarily involve researching the recent case law in the UK courts regarding cross border insolvency cases.
  • The work can be done in any place in the UK where you have access to a good library and internet. Meetings with Professor Payne can be held in Oxford or online as agreed.

Eligibility
This opportunity is open to current graduate students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students in this department. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.

Rate of Pay
This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.60 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1)  plus holiday pay of £1.88 per hour worked (= total of £17.48/hour).

Funding
This opportunity is funded by Merton College's research assistance fund.
