Dr Vilija Velyvyte is looking for a research assistant to help with the completion of her book manuscript. The work will involve two main tasks. The primary task will be to find updates of CJEU case law used in the book. Additionally, the assistant might be asked to format certain sections of the manuscript in line with the publisher’s requirements.
Duration and hours
Total number of hours of work available: 50-100
Maximum number of hours of work per week (or explain variable arrangements): 8 hours
Start date: mid-April or as soon as possible after
Date by which the work must be completed: mid-June 2021
The Research Assistant will report to Dr Velyvyte.
- A general understanding of the field of law is essential and understanding of EU law is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Eur-Lex or similar databases that offer access to EU case law is essential.
This position is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.
Rate of Pay
12 weeks or less (casual engagement): This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.37 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1) plus holiday pay of £1.86 per hour worked (= total of £17.23/hour).
